Every year, there is an exponential increase in the number of IoT devices. The rise in the Internet of Things promises exciting and endless possibilities for businesses, organizations, and individuals, but as IoT becomes the most integral part of our lives, the need to secure them grows. In the past, insecure IoT devices have created a number of risks associated with information security.
When everything is connected to everything else, the possibilities that these devices carry are unlimited, but at the same time, this carries a much wider risk and also creates a much larger attack surface. In the past, we have rarely seen IoT developers thinking about security.
We need to teach our developers to think about IoT security upfront and include security in their development cycle. This is because it is very important to retain the customer’s trust if you want to stay in this game for long.
