Do I need a Visa for Puerto Rico?
Yes, travellers from other countries visiting Puerto Rico have the same visa and passport requirements that would apply if visiting the mainland United States.
If you are unsure whether you need to obtain a visa or ESTA, use the U.S. Department of State’s Visa Wizard to find out which you should apply for.
If you have determined that you do need a visa, you will need to apply for the right kind of visitor visa – usually, a B1*, to attend a scientific, educational, professional, or business convention or conference for a business visit – and follow the instructions provided by the State Department.

We’ll provide a Letter of Invitation to attend the event. This document will be sent only to:
- Speakers.
- Registered attendees who have paid their registration fee in full.
- Exhibitors who have paid their partner/exhibitor packages fee in full.
How do I get to Puerto Rico?
More than 20 airlines, including American, Delta, United, Southwest, Spirit, Frontier, British Airways, Continental, Copa and Iberia, fly in and out of Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport, commonly known as the San Juan airport (SJU).
Several airlines operate over 100 daily flights to over 20 destinations in the Caribbean. Airlines that fly to and from San Juan to the Caribbean include:
